 SACDE Members in the News

There are three long-time SACDE members who have been recognized within the past few weeks for their contributions to health care in Southern Arizona. They are inspirations for us all. Please wish them continued success in their endeavors.

First, from Vanguardnews.com, we have "In every community, there are a few people who are inarguably outstanding at what they do. In Addition to that, they are typically intuitive, charismatic, courageous, and willing to challenge the status quo. They are community activists, educators, religious leaders, who believe that we 'must be the change that we wish to see.'" Linda Parker has been selected as one of the 25 most influential African American in Southern Arizona.

Second, each year, the Tucson Nurses Week Foundation (established in 1994) recognizes a group of Fabulous 50 Nurses. The celebration this year of "professionalism, education, research and personal vitality" includes Kari Hite, one of influential members of SACDE.

And, third, there is a nurse who was head of the Diabetes Care Center, then director of network diabetes and outreach. Now, Carondelet Health Network has promoted Donna Zazworsky to vice president of community health and continuum care. She will "lead programs and services related to health-care access, health promotion, and disease management, including the Southern Arizona Health Village for the Homeless, Faith Community Nursing, and the Diabetes Care Center."
